DESCRIPTION:Flatcar Container Linux is a minimal base OS to run containers.
 \nAs a friendly fork of CoreOS Container Linux it continues the project un
 der a new name.\nThe main features are the A/B partitions for automatic up
 dates and rollbacks\, and the integration of Ignition for declarative conf
 iguration on first boot.\nDeclarative configuration is a key element for m
 anaging machines following the principle of Immutable Infrastructure\, but
  causes friction if it means that the whole machine has to be reprovisione
 d for configuration changes.\nWith Ansible instead of Ignition for the con
 figuration management we can find a	compromise by giving up on avoiding co
 nfiguration drift due to leftovers of old configurations and their side ef
 fects.\nOut of this experience the idea was born to rerun Ignition on conf
 iguration changes.\nWhile the big hammer method is to reformat the filesys
 tem and losing application data\, a more fine-grained solution could exist
  by clearing only parts of the filesystem.\nThis talk shows how to use Fla
 tcar Container Linux with Terraform\, Ignition\, and Ansible\, and ends wi
 th a proof-of-concept demo for Flatcar Container Linux to allow configurat
 ion changes through Ignition while avoiding configuration drift.
