The pulp_deb plugin is entering a new phase of the software lifecycle, and we want you to tell us what the plugin development should focus on! We will provide an update on the latest features and how we got here, but the focus will be on where we plan to go next.
Topics will include the new optimize sync mode, work to expand the test coverage for improved reliability and maintainability, open community submissions, as well as remaining unsolved design challenges.
You will also get to meet Tobias Grigo, our latest plugin maintainer.
With the switch to Pulp 3 now fully behind us (at least a good proportion of the maintainers customers have now fully migrated their production systems) the pulp_deb plugin is entering a new phase in the software lifecycle. With CfgMgmtCamp awakening from Covid induced hibernation, this marks a great opportunity to take stock of where the plugin now is, and more importantly where it might be headed.
This talk will go over new features, but the main focus will be on where we plan to go next. We will go over open community submissions, and want to invite all users and community members to tell us their top priorities.
Topics will include the new optimize sync mode, work to expand the test coverage for improved reliability and maintainability, as well as a tricky unsolved design challenge currently blocking a host of features.
With two authors, this talk will also allow you to get to know Tobias Grigo, who has recently joined the team as a plugin maintainer.
Quirin Pamp is a software engineer with ATIX AG at Garching near Munich, Germany. In this capacity he contributes to open-source projects in and around the Foreman/Katello ecosystem and is the principal maintainer of the pulp_deb plugin. Unrelated interests include logic and cycling.
